Belle Plaine, MN–On June 18, golfers and supporters of The Lutheran Home Association (TLHA) Foundation will gather again for a summer tradition–the Foundation’s 16th Annual Charity Golf Classic and Silent Auction at Valley View Golf Course in Belle Plaine. This event is for four-person scramble (men and/or women) teams. Proceeds from the tournament and the auctions will provide for the ongoing operation of The Lutheran Home Association’s facilities and programs. Funding from previous tournaments have purchased state-of-the-art technology to enhance the worship experience in the newly renovated chapel and therapy equipment for the Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, which meets the needs of residents and community members of all ages.
The tournament’s schedule is as follows: Registration at 10:30 a.m., lunch buffet and free golf clinic at 11:00 a.m., tee-off with a shotgun start at noon. The dinner buffet begins at approximately 5:30 p.m., followed by the awards program and silent auction. New this year is a live auction, which concludes the event.
Silent Auction items will be on display throughout the day and open for bidding until 6:00 p.m. Non-golfers and community members are invited to attend the dinner and two auctions. Tickets for the dinner should be purchased in advance by calling (952) 873-4749.
In addition to the business that have supported this event for many years, some businesses new to Belle Plaine are also involved. Platinum sponsor, Saxe Chevrolet Buick of Belle Plaine, is sponsoring the hole-in-one contest. Golfers will have the opportunity to win a fully-loaded new automobile, valued at approximately $35,000. Kwik Trip is sponsoring the lunch buffet that will be available to all golfers and volunteers prior to the start of play. The dinner buffet will again be sponsored by Dr. Roger Hallgren, who was the medical director at The Lutheran Home Campus for more than 40 years.
TLHA Foundation thanks all of its sponsors, golfers and volunteers for their generous support and also Thrivent Financial for Lutherans of Scott County which is providing supplemental funding for this event.
