BELLE PLAINE, MINN. January 14, 2019 — The Lutheran Home Association (TLHA), a national non-profit health-care and disability ministry, welcomed Pastor Patrick Feldhus as a Jesus Cares Ministries (JCM) Consultant & Chaplain for Hope Residence, a TLHA care community focused on disability housing in Belle Plaine, Minn.

Pastor Feldhus_EditedIn this role, Pastor Feldhus will develop and mentor JCM programs in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota. JCM assists congregations in reaching out to people with developmental disabilities, their families and communities, throughout the United States and Malawi, Africa. As Chaplain for Hope Residence, Pastor Feldhus will provide Bible studies, worship services, devotions and personal visits for residents, family members and team members.

“I really appreciate TLHA’s emphasis on the care of the soul. I’ve always felt if you take care of one’s spiritual life, it will have a positive effect on one’s physical life,” said Pastor Feldhus.

Pastor Feldhus became familiar with TLHA ministries from serving as a pastor in Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod churches. He also learned of JCM and Hope Residence as his youngest daughter Moriah has developmental disabilities. Pastor Feldhus’ wife, Debra, joined the TLHA team as a Direct Support Professional at Hope Residence.

“I am thrilled with the addition of Pastor Feldhus to our JCM team, said Rev. Joel Gaertner, Vice President of Ministry and National Director of Jesus Cares Ministries. “His impact is already clear sharing God’s word with Hope residents and our JCM programs.”

Pastor Feldhus was ordained at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cornell, Wis. on WI on Sept. 13, 2009. He served there until Dec. 31, 2018. On Nov. 29, 2015, he became Pastor for another congregation at Our Redeemer in Ladysmith, Wis. He served there until December 31, 2018.
