Honoring our volunteers

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

Picture1-36263272We recently honored and celebrated our volunteers. Local artist Lana Beck led a painting session for our volunteers. All our volunteers, who share their time and talents with our residents, are important to the ministry of The Lutheran Home Belle Plaine campus. Lending a hand not only fosters community well-being, but is a rewarding experience. We are always looking for volunteers!

Visit: Our residents love to interact on a one to one basis. Work on a puzzle, play a game, or read a book with one of our tenants. Simply having a close friend can boost happiness and reduce stress.

Entertain: Share a talent with our residents. Play the piano, bring the band in, show off your dance moves or perform a play.

Lead: Organize a weekly event such a game night or exercise class, lead an art project, share your hobby or provide assistance for an activity such as Bingo or Happy Hour. Take photos and share in electronic photo frames.
