Recognizing our volunteers

volunteer-1“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

St. Michael’s hosted a volunteer appreciation breakfast or lunch to express gratitude and recognize our hard working volunteers. During the meal, volunteers had the opportunity to meet and visit with each other. All our volunteers, who share their time and talents with our residents, are important to the ministry of St. Michael’s Assisted Living. Lending a hand not only fosters community well-being, but is a rewarding experience. We are always looking for volunteers! We have several different volunteer opportunities available:

-Visit: Our residents love to interact on a one to one basis. Work on a puzzle, play a game, or read a book with one of our tenants. Simply having a close friend can boost happiness and reduce stress.

-Entertain: Share a talent with our residents. Play the piano, bring the band in, show off your dance moves or perform a play.

-Lead: Organize a weekly event such a game night or exercise class, lead an art project, share your hobby or provide assistance for an activity such as Bingo or Happy Hour. Take photos and share in electronic photo frames.
